Saudi Arabia concrete maker inks 3D printing tech deal with Italy firm

Saudi’s Al Kathiri has entered a 3D printing deal with Italy’s Emmedue [representational image]. Saudi Arabia’s Al Kathiri Holding has signed an agreement with Italian construction technology company Emmedue to increase its 3D-printed concrete capabilities. According to a statement on the Saudi bourse, Tadawul, the non-binding memorandum of understanding signed by Al Kathiri subsidiary Alian Industry Co relates to the transfer of 3D-printed concrete panelling technology by buying “machinery and equipment for the process of manufacturing”. The six-month agreement also covers the transfer of expertise, processing, and training of employees. Staff will be trained in processes relating to manufacturing and construction.
