Partners in Education: Students learn hands on with 3D printers

HOWARD, Wis. — Fifth and sixth graders at Lineville Intermediate School in the Howard-Suamico school district, put on their creative hats! “We started off with sketching out the plans, and what we’re going to do, and elaborate it with some friends and grade it,” said sixth grader Noah Thomas, is designing a chair and bringing it to life, all through 3D printing. “There’s a lot of creative ideas coming from kids,” said Tim Homberger, VP of design and development at KI. Homberger is the vice president of design and development at Kreuger International, a manufacturing company, he said this is a great opportunity for students to develop a passion for architecture. “I think it’s great at such a young age, at middle school getting exposed to things like this,” said Homberger. “You have to figure out how to make it functional, and make it look good fit well into […]
