Moi recognized for 3D printing with continuous fiber

Source | moi composites Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) spin-off moi composites (Lomazzo, Italy), has announced that it is the overall winner of the Italian National Innovation Award (Premio Nazionale Innovazione – PNI) for its additive manufacturing technology, which is reportedly able to realize high-performance products using thermosetting composites materials. “It’s an innovative system that uses a numerically controlled machine able to deposit continuous fibers impregnated with thermosetting resin in order to create high-performance objects orienting fibers towards the maximum direction of stress they are going to sustain,” says moi co-founder Gabriel Natale. The PNI is the widest and extensive Italian innovation competition, hosted this year by the University of Verona in partnership with Verona’s Chamber of Commerce.
