3D printing technique to help restore oral cancer patients’ faces

Jaipur: By using 3D printing technique, city-based cardiologists and neurologists have already scripted success in performing surgeries with precision. Soon, the technology will be used for reconstruction of face of patients who have undergone oral cancer surgery , for regaining more or less the same face which they had earlier. The 3D printing technique helps in preparing a model of the face, which the doctors then use for reconstruction of the face with precision. “We have studied how the new technology will help oral cancer patients after the surgery. During surgery, we remove the part of the mouth having cancer. Due to the removal of that part, we have to reconstruct the face.
